Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former secretary-general of NATO, packs his prognosis for Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign into one loaded word.“I think President Trump will be a loser,” he tells me.It is a notoriously triggering term for the former president, evoking deep humiliation. Rasmussen uses it casually.“His baggage is too heavy, too controversial,” says Rasmussen, 70, who was Denmark’s prime minister for most of this century’s first decade.Yet Rasmussen, a right-of-center politician who is now a white-shoe international consultant, remains scared of Trump. What disturbs him more immediately than the idea of Trump back in the White House is a far likelier scenario: Trump winning the Republican presidential nomination. It may seem counterintuitive to fear Trump’s nomination more than his return to power, a less probable but vastly more dangerous outcome. But Rasmussen’s mind is on the war in Ukraine — and what Trump’s candidacy might do to sabotage it.The former NATO chief serves as a...Cheez-It and Pringles company gets a new name

(CNN) — Kellogg has picked a name for its new spinoff companies. They sound a lot like their old names, but with a new spin. The unit that houses its snacks, including Cheez-It and Pringles, plus its international cereal brands and plant-based foods will be called “Kellanova.” And its North American cereal business, which includes Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops, will be called “WK Kellogg Co.,” the company announced Wednesday.Kellogg announced last year that it was splitting into three different companies to “better position each business to unlock its full potential.” However, it revealed last month that it wasn’t spinning off its plant-based foods unit, which includes MorningStar Farms brand, but housing it within its more profitable snacking business, “Kellanova.”Kellogg explained the reasoning behind the more peculiar name, “Kellanova,” saying that the “Kell” part “overtly recognizes...NASA and Axiom unveil spacesuits astronauts will wear on the moon

(CNN) — NASA and Texas-based company Axiom Space have revealed a new spacesuit design — and it could be these very suits that are eventually worn by the first woman and person of color to walk on the moon. The spacesuits unveiled by Axiom Space at Space Center Houston on Wednesday are prototypes, though the company says it will be delivering spacesuits that can be used for astronaut training by late summer. The company won a contract last year to produce the suits for NASA.The new design, which looked black with blue and orange detailing for the unveiling, appeared to take on a vastly different aesthetic than the puffy white suits worn by moonwalkers of the 20th century. However, Axiom Space noted in a news release that its suits are covered in an extra layer — bearing the company’s colors and logo — for display purposes. An image of the AxEMU spacesuit Axiom Space was unveiled on March 15. Two hikers had to be rescued overnight this week after heavy snow left them stranded in Mount Washington State Forest near Massachusetts’ borders with Connecticut and New York, the Massachusetts State Police announced. Police said a call came in around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday after one of the hikers called 911. The hiker told officials he and his friend had gone for a hike on the Alander Trail. With bad weather and darkness, he said, he and his friend were unable to see trail markings. The hiker said he and his friend couldn’t continue to a cabin they were originally headed to. State police said they also couldn’t retrace their steps out of the forest as snow had covered their tracks. Police said officials assembled a search and rescue team with personnel from multiple agencies, plotting the hiker’s location and assembling at a command post at the Egremont Fire Department on Route 23. State police said crews had to clear roads between the command post and an entrance to the...Murder warrant issued for suspect sought after stabbing death of 79-year-old Malden man

Boston Catholics can rest easy and bring out the corned beef this St. Patrick’s Day, the Archdiocese of Boston reassured parishioners Tuesday.“Given the importance of this feast in the life of the Archdiocese and in the lives of many Catholics, Cardinal Seán is granting a dispensation from the Friday Lenten abstinence on March 17, 2023, to those who wish to take advantage of this opportunity,” wrote the archdiocese in their notice. This St. Patrick’s Day falls on a mid-Lent Friday for the first time since 2017, meaning strictly practicing Catholics would traditionally be unable to partake in any meat consumption during the holiday.During the 40 days of Lent, adult Catholics are generally expected to abstain from meat on all Fridays and Ash Wednesday, in addition to other fasting and reflection practices. But, the archdiocese and others seemed to reason, a St. Patrick’s Day feast — marking the death of the Boston archdiocese’s patron saint R...Latest news
